Almoravid is a French brand of unique and entirely handmade luxury bags. The creation of Almoravid started with the association of two French designers, willing to build an artistic bridge between two cultures and traditions: the high standard of French finest and luxurious fashion Maisons, and the fascination of the Moroccan Berber handicrafts of their ancestors. The origin of the brand: The Almoravids were the most prestigious Moroccan Berber dynasty who ruled a thousand years ago from the south of Europe all the way to West Africa. This empire was created by the association of different Berber tribes who decided together to build a kingdom with Marrakesh as its capital. This is the reason why we choose to create our bags by hand in the imperial city of Marrakesh. Our craftsman, trained with the highest standard of French Luxury Maisons, uses traditional tools and natural materials to make the handbags of your dreams. Our work: Almoravid bags are all handmade and using entirely natural materials of the highest quality. The leather and suede we use are tanned and coloured following an eco-friendly process in a traditional Moroccan vegetal tannery. Our kilim, pompons and handira are meticulously assembled by hand using the best quality of wool. Berber jewellers are using ancestral techniques to create the gorgeous jewels that are embellishing some of our collections.
